Regional ShaleGasFinder Package: Western Canada

Shale is a largely untapped resource in Canada and an emerging play with very little reported shale gas production.

We are currently working closely with three energy companies to prepare this package, and are seeking to expand the consortium.

Elements of the study include:

• PhaseKinetics: PVT of primary fluids in time and space, a crucial element for basin modelling of potential gas- and oil-shale plays Secondary gas kinetics - progressive degradation of black oil liquids to condensate, wet gas and dry gas.
• Rock Mechanics: uniaxial-, triaxial-compression, brazilian disc, accoustic emission, ultrasonic transmission tests
